SambaExplorer crashes when I try to download a file or a directory

Instead of the file I get an error message which tells me that the process
com.shank.SambaExplorer has terminated unexpectedly.

I'm running it on a HTC Hero with Firmware Version 1.5.
HTC is customizing Android, they even build their own kernel, so maybe
thats the root of the problem?
