Would be nice if gpart show git commit short hash instead of just 0.2.3-dev

I compiled gpart and was reading the Version, it shows -

~/games/gpart/src$ sudo gpart -V
[sudo] password for shirish: 
gpart v0.2.3-dev

It probably would be much nicer if we could have gpart v0.2.3-dev-23b651d to show the latest commit.
