Many data-entry jobs heavily rely on 10-key usage. There should be a mode to train for number pad efficiency, with variants that focus or spreadsheet entry, financial entry, numeric lists.
Most of the manual entry for my job takes the form of:
-or-
I am able to practice a stream of consciousness "numbers only" using my key pad, and setting the "ignore space errors" option, but that doesn't include the use of the [ . ] key or needing to use the [ENTER] to complete each line.
data entry into spreadsheets also requires [TAB] to move to the next cell horizontally, and [ENTER] to advance to the next cell vertically. It would probably be fine to simulate that by randomly requiring one or multiple presses of [TAB], or [ENTER] between words to develop usage independence.
Zero-filling and other groups of same-digit multiples is something that happens a lot with UPC/SKU/NDC and prices so in terms of improving accuracy, that should also be a feature of 10-key practice. examples: $4.99, $5.00, $4.49. My equipment automatically inserts the decimal on price fields, so I personally don't care about the decimal entry, I would just be meeting it as if the decimal wasn't even there, but that would be something others need to practice. however getting the correct number of zeros in financial is usually pretty important, might even cost someone their job if they don't key it correctly.
