I am a resident of Estonia. Can you explain how my pension entitlement works. ,"In Estonia, pension rights are linked to pensionable service and social security contributions. The Estonian pension system consists of three pillars:

Pillar I – a state pension, financed by social tax. To receive it, you need at least 15 years of pensionable service. One year of pensionable service is counted when social tax has been paid for you in the amount of at least the annual minimum wage ⁽¹⁾.
Pillar II – mandatory funded pension, which includes 4% of social tax and an additional 2% of gross income paid by the individual. If you are enrolled in Pillar II, 16% of social tax goes to Pillar I ⁽¹⁾.
Pillar III – voluntary private pension, to which you or your employer make contributions ⁽²⁾.
If you have also worked in other countries, you may also be entitled to a pension based on the pension experience you have acquired there, if a social security agreement has been concluded between Estonia and the relevant country. In this case, the pension experience is calculated in total ⁽¹⁾.

The amount of your pension depends on your accumulated pension rights and social tax payments. You can view your pension rights and accumulated assets on the state portal eesti.ee using your ID card, mobile ID or Smart ID ⁽¹⁾.
