I think it would be nice if TagStudio could interface with an IQDB instance. I haven't had the best results with DupeGuru. While IQDB is specific to images, I do think it is viable for this purpose. Thoughts?
yes, but that's functionally the same. If it's the iqdb.org instance or one hosted by oneself doesn't really make a difference implementationwise, it should just be a different URL. I suggest you add a comment to that issue regarding IQDB and mention the option to use a local instance. That way we have all the related stuff in one place
They arne't really the same, at all. Again, this is suggesting comparing items within a TagStudio Library. Do do this, you would NEED a local IQDB instance running. It would need to build it's database on your library and store it. Additionally, it would not be able to provide results for external websites.
You definitely can do both, calling 2 different IQDB instances, but they have very very different technical requirements to implement.
Ohhhh you mean a sort of integration of an IQDB instance into tagstudio?
Yeah that is definitely not the same ^^
I am not familiar with IQDB so I had assumed you could point it to a local source of images, such that an integration like wouldn't strictly be necessary for this functionality
