Hello,

Firstly - thank you for making this app! I was going to start a project with the same objectives but then I stumbled across yours and it is far better than anything I would have ended up producing.

I have performed some limited testing and identified some bugs. I am open to fixing and raising PR's rather than bug reports, but I was wondering if you are open to external contributions and what your contribution guidelines are.

If you're happy for me to just send them through I will do so.

Also, any guidance w.r.t. any sort of roadmap? I'd really like to maybe help undo #150, but actually make it work (the MAIN point of this app for me would be able to edit / manage PDF forms, in conjunction with another thing I'm building)... but wouldn't want to duplicate work or take it in directions incompatible with the maintainers' objectives

Similar story here, w.r.t. excitement for finding this app! It's always a great feeling when you're thinking "I wonder if I could just vibe-code a better Acrobat with just pdf.js + pdf-lib + solidjs + tauri ..." only to discover that someone else has already done much more than vibe-coding.

Hi Alex,

Thanks for your message! The last month I have been working on the engine, having tried a lot of different engines. Now PDFium is de library which is used for most of the PDF-files. If a PDF-files is a heavy vector PDF-file with > 5 milion lines then AEC PDF V1 engine will be used. This is a new pdf-engine with multithreading and tiling and can handle these kind of files.

Now there is a feature freeze. This is the planning:
< 14-07-2026 working on issues and PR's. Then a pre-release;

24-07-2026 release of Open PDF Studio 2026.1

Rest of the plans for 2026:

• AI-integration;
• All kind of drawing recognition;
• DWG/DXF import/export;
• PDF A/B/C
• Working on wishes of users;
• Integration of AEC libraries all over the world with localisation;

I prefer issues until the end of this months. Then the program is stable and we can work with PR's.
