feat(recipes): requalify and re-pin k8s-aibom to v1.6.1 - #3373
Conversation
Chart 1.6.1 with image sha256:eca8ce63, qualified under ADR-019 against upstream's GKE evidence run with AICR's values (k8s-aibom@d2b5b683, docs/evidence/v1.6.1-gke-adr019-dynamo.md). Adds the ADR-021 transition >=1.5.1 <1.6.1 -> 1.6.1 (manual, reversible). The CRD step becomes unconditional on helmfile, terraform and fleet: the 1.6.x controller reports Degraded (SchemaPredatesController) on CRDs left over from 1.3.0, and discovery.workloadKinds needs the new schema. The record also names the ownership roll-up, which deletes per-workload AIBOMs for workloads owned by another tracked kind. Bundler fixtures move to 1.6.1 so they keep modeling registry-pinned coordinates; the GKE Dynamo leaves' resolution goldens move because they embed the declined ref's version and health check. Both aiperf-bench scan legs and the attest job passed; cosign verify-attestation on linux/amd64 (sha256:09c0a5e1...) and linux/arm64 (sha256:afe506ea...) lists all seven pillow GHSAs, every product bound to that manifest's digest. - nvsentinel-image-cves-are-a-pin-bump: invalidated. Registry and scan matrix are both on v1.28.0, and all fourteen nvsentinel images scan 0/0. aiperf-bench shows 7 VEX-suppressed rows against v23's 7 statements, so no statement is stale and .openvex.json is unchanged. drift-state.yaml: record the k8s-aibom 1.5.1 -> 1.6.1 verdict (#3373). Summary
Re-pin k8s-aibom from 1.5.1 to 1.6.1 (chart and image digest
sha256:eca8ce63…), requalified under ADR-019 against upstream's GKE evidence run with AICR's values. This adds the ADR-021 transition>=1.5.1 <1.6.1 → 1.6.1.Motivation / Context
v1.6 adds native inventory for Dynamo, NIM, LeaderWorkerSet and DisaggregatedSet workloads, with ownership roll-up. 1.6.1 is the release upstream qualified for AICR, including the Dynamo pairing. The evidence: v1.6.1-gke-adr019-dynamo.md.

spec.discovery.workloadKinds, nested underdiscovery. There is no conversion stanza, and served and storage versions are unchanged, so the health-check assertions stay as they are. The new ClusterRole rules are all read-only: get/list/watch on the new kinds and CronJobs, get/list on the Grove kinds, and get on the/openapi/v3nonResourceURL. That URL is onesystem:discoveryalready grants, and the chart states it so the dependency is auditable. With AICR's values the chart renders no new image and no Service.manual. On helmfile, terraform and fleet, applying the new CRDs is now required on every upgrade: the 1.6.x controller reportsDegraded=True(SchemaPredatesController) on CRDs still left over from 1.3.0, andworkloadKindsneeds the new schema.aicr upgrade-checkblocks a 1.3.0 → 1.6.1 jump at 1.5.1.reversible: truerests on upstream's measured rollback, and the notes say what that run did not cover.k8s-aibom-crdschart.gb200-gke-cos-inference-dynamoevidence pointer as stale, because that resolved recipe changed.Testing
make qualifypasses. Go changes are test files only (fixture versions and comments), so no package coverage moves.check-upgrade-recordspasses: 18 of 18 governed pins covered, and the record is well formed.make k8s-aibom-test(the ADR-019 Kind integration test) passes against the 1.6.1 pin.make bom-docschanges only the k8s-aibom version row and its image digest.Risk Assessment
Rollout notes: Opt-in component, installed by default only on
h100-gke-cos-inference. Upgrading needs the CRD step on helmfile, terraform and fleet, as the upgrade record states. Rollback to 1.5.1 with the newer CRDs left in place was measured clean upstream.Checklist
