  • read from file and rescales if needed. maybe a map + ported rescaling loop?
• append_field_list_infra (0.03s)
• get_field_list_infra (0.02s)
• append_axis_list_infra (0.01s)
• open_file_infra (0.01s)
• initialize_axis_list_nc_ (0.01s)
• get_axis_list_infra (0.01s)

mostly probably not appropriate to port but need to verify.
