It was highlighted in Issue 5 of EnergyModelsCompliance that there is issue with the default approach for mode_data. This implies that potential errors when mode_data is not properly adjusted are not captured.
We did not take it into the new version 0.12 but I think it would be beneficial to remember it for the next breaking release.
