Why not redis compatible as an L2 store?

I've been told DargonflyDB should be super fast and redis protocol compatible.

Wouldn't that be faster for an L2 cache after APCu L1?

Is it a memory thing, you wanted to avoid storing both L1 and L2 in memory?
