Kicad version will not open with Kicad 6.0

Version 6 is the latest on MacOS, so not sure how to fix this.

I even upgraded to the latest nightly, but still your files will not open. The error is:

To open it you will need to upgrade
KiCad to a version dated 20221206 or later

Whch is strange, as the Macos version IS newer .. Version: (6.0.11-0), release build

Perhaps make sure all previous installation artifacts have been removed?
