We will use this issue to keep track of our progress on the component library.

Shortlist:

• Grating couplers:
  • Optimized using Adjoint optimization
• mmi's:
  • 2x2
  • 1x2
• Optical crossing:
  • Optimized using Adjoint optimization
• Bend components:
  • Adiabatic bend
  • Optimized loss vs bend radius and waveguide width using FDTD
• Taper:
  • Optimized using EMEpy or tidy3d
• Straights:
  • Optimize loss vs width (tidy3d)
• Distributed Bragg Reflector
• Contra-directional coupler
• Symmetric and Asymmetric couplers

Things to finalize:

• Design rules
• Process flow
• Layer thicknesses
